Martin Burn Group is a leading Real Estate Development firm based in Kolkata. It was founded in 1946 as a result of a merger of two civil engineering companies i.e. Martin & Co. and Burn & Co.

They are proud to have created some of the most iconic landmarks such as the Victoria Memorial, Shahid Minar, Esplanade Mansion, etc. Over the past three decades, we have delivered new standards for workplaces, homes, and cultural spaces that people love to come to and use every day.

Our dedication to excellence has enabled us to create the most recognizable public and private spaces in Kolkata. The group advanced the concept of premium gated community living with developments. Such as Shreeram Gardens (Belvedere Road), Shreeram Nagar (VIP Road), and Shreeram Estates (Behala). We gave the city its first truly world-class shopping complex in Shreeram Arcade. We engaged with civic authorities and local governments to develop public spaces like Eden Gardens Club House, and S.S. Hogg Market – Phase II.

MARTIN PROPERTY DEVELOPERS (P) LTD., (MPDPL) is proud to be from the multi crore Martin Group of Companies which is based in Coimbatore, founded in 1992 with significant presence in diverse business lines such as Gaming, TV Media, Real Estate, Property development, Construction, Hotel operations, Infrastructure development, etc. Though, the company has only 2 years of experience in the construction of apartments, MARTIN PROPERTY DEVELOPERS (P) LTD., (MPDPL) is emerging as one of the largest construction companies of South India.

Martin & Co, has to its credit of building waterworks at Palta, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Benares. But its major contribution are architectural marvels like Esplanade Mansion, Standard Chartered Building, South Eastern Railway Headquarters in Garden Reach, Tipu Sultan Mosque, Patna Secretariat building. Towards the high point of its career in 1904 the firm was awarded the contract of building the Victoria Memorial, which was completed in 1921. Many of these buildings have been declared Heritage monuments.

Another construction firm, Burn & Co which was founded in early 1800s and had the experience of building many an important structures in Calcutta like St. Andrew’s Church (1818), the 152 high Ochterlony Monument (1828) was taken over by Rajen Mookerjee in 1927 and the two together went on dotting the city with buildings like St. Xaviers’ College (1934–40), Oriental Seminary, Belur Math (1932), the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission, Darbhanga House the Calcutta residence of Darbhanga Raj, Assembly House, Grand Hotel Arcade, United Bank Buildings, New Secretariat Building, Club House at Eden Gardens – the list is endless. The city of Kolkata – is sometimes also referred to as Martin Burn City for this reason.

Martin Burn Limited is now operated by Fatehpuria’s and the Mookerjees no longer hold any stake. It still operates from its original head office at 1, R. N. Mookerjee Road, Martin Burn House, Kolkata in B.B.D. Bagh area. The old Martin Burn House, which was in the Victorian style, has been replaced with a more modern multi-storey building housing many corporate offices.
