Lataguri
Overview
In the Jalpaiguri district of the Indian state of West Bengal, Lataguri is a census town located in the Mal CD block of the Malbazar subdivision.
On National Highway No. 31, Lataguri may be found beyond the boundaries of Gorumara National Park. Lataguri is the place where you may get permits to access Gorumara and the Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary.
Till two decades back, Lataguri was a small village on the highway that ran through the Dooars. The sawmills there were well-known. The center of tourism activities in the Dooars is currently Lataguri. This formerly peaceful village has been transformed into a tourism hub, with a huge number of resorts and hotels dispersed around the expanding town, thanks to its closeness to Gorumara National Park.
In Lataguri, scenic beauty comes first and foremost. For those who enjoy the outdoors and animals, the Gorumara jungle is a treasure. The place also features a natural education center that provides the visitor with a further understanding of the flora and animals of the nearby forest region, in addition to being the basis for visiting the habitat of the Asiatic one-horned rhino Gorumara National Park and the elephant corridor Chapramari wildlife sanctuary.
There are several tourist destinations close to this location, including Buxa Forest, Chapramari, Samsing, Jaldhaka, Bindu, Suntalekhola, and others, in addition to being the starting point for the Gorumara National Park and the Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary.
